Which Fabrics Wrinkle the Least?
Crepe and georgette are the two we reach for when a client is flying to a wedding. Their crinkled texture hides creases, and fold lines fall out within an hour of hanging. Cotton is the opposite. It creases at the elbow and seat the moment you sit down, though a quick steam fixes it fast.
How Should You Pack Silk and Chanderi?
Roll, do not fold. We tell clients to roll chanderi and silk around a soft core and lay them flat on top of the suitcase. Folding leaves a hard crease along the zari that is difficult to remove. Tissue fabric creases at the folds too, so keep it on top with nothing heavy pressing on it.
Cotton vs Georgette for a Destination Wedding
Cotton breathes in humid weather but arrives creased. Georgette arrives smooth and holds its shape through an evening function. For a daytime outdoor wedding, cotton plus a small steamer is fine. For an evening reception, georgette is the safer choice.

How Do You Refresh Fabrics After Unpacking?
Hang the outfit in the bathroom while you shower and let the steam do the work. For cotton, a travel steamer takes two minutes. Never iron silk or tissue on high heat. Use a cool iron or a pressing cloth to protect the surface.
